What would be the best knife sharpener fore a knife collector?
I collect knives and have had a few sharpeners. I like to keep my knives as sharp as i can. What would be the best sharpener to do this? I have both serrated and straight edge blades. Most of my blades cost from -0 so i don’t want a cheep sharpener that would destroy the blade.
@Cane Toad Mutiny Yes i know a true knife collector keeps them mint condition, but for me if you own something like a knife or gun you should have it in top performance just in case you need it one of these days.

Professional knife sharpeners usually use a three stone system with each stone getting more fine and putting a finer blade on them. Then only problem is it takes a lot of practice to get the exact angle between the knife and the stone right. The easy alternative I love is called.the Accusharp. You pull your blades through it’s tungsten-carbide blades two or three times and you have a super sharp knife. You can see videos of it on youtube.

I hate to break this to you, but real knife collectors do not sharpen their knives. Knives retain their value to collectors by remaining in factory fresh condition. My most valuable knives are CASE XXX brand Congress knives that have never been opened or sharpened and sit in a case in their original boxes!

For around 150 maybe a little more at Cabela’s. It is called a chiefs choice. It has three different sharpening .Course, medium, and fine. It gives the right Angel also. The sharpening blades are diamond grit on a flexable metal disk. It is electric but does not heat the blade and hurt the temper of the steel. The fine disk polishes the blade to a mirror finish,so you can’t even tell it was sharpened. I have one of these sharpener and I would use nothing else best money I ever spent. Also it sharpens a blade in a minute where you can shave the hair off your arm.
