i have a GREAT set of french steak knives. they even come in a lovely case.
now over time. they are VERY DULL!!!
is it difficult to sharpen the blade?it says on the case
to: " use a flint sharpening stone or a steel designed for cutlery."
to sharpen.
i am not familiar with either. i just love to cook. but now am trying to learn about maintaining what i have.
is it difficult to find a flint sharpening stone or cutlery sharpening steel?
probably somewhere like Williams – Sonoma.. but do you know of any place inexpensive ?
or should i just toss them, and buy new?
thanks in advance!

I am choosing a flybuys reward, i have narrowed it down to the two following:
•11 knives plus knife block & Staysharp sharpening device.
•Safe knife block for storage of Wiltshire Staysharp Stainless Steel knives.
•Easy to use sharpening device to keep knives sharp at all times.
•Knives: Paring, Utility, Carving, Vegetable, Cook’s, and 6 Steak Knives.
•Highest Quality Stainless Steel for Wiltshire premium knives.
•Well balanced hollow handle for comfort of use.
•Dishwasher safe.
•25 Year Guarantee.
(I ONLY REALLY NEED THE 5 OTHER KNIFES AND THE SHARPENER AS I HAVE STEAK KNIFES ALREADY)
all porcelain and classic white 5 piece bake set,
The set includes a lasagne dish, two casserole dishes and two baking dishes. For extra ease, the bakeware is dishwasher and microwave safe.
WHICH I ONLY WANT THE CASEROLE DISHES AS I HAVE THE OTHERS
which should i choose please?

I was gifted a 20-piece knife set, which includes six steak knives, kitchen shears, a sharpening stone, and then 12 other blades. I’m looking for a guide as to when to use a particular knife – what knife is best for a particular task. For example, when do you want to use a serrated edge versus a smooth edge for cutting? So, I’m looking for a guide on which blade to use by task – know where I can find one?
Of course I did try Google, didn’t really turn up much useful . .

My fiance has been wanting a ‘formal’ (I can think of a better word than that for it) pocket knife so I was thinking of getting him one for christmas. I know he likes the steak knives by this company so I though he might like a pocket knife by them. Which do you think is better.
