Most americans think all you need to survive is a credit card and an iphone.
To really survive all you need is a bigger weapon therefore you don’t need to take all that stuff around with you just take if from the other guy who has packed it.

All you need is a gun and lot of food supplies. Because when hell breaks loose (and it will, maybe in few years, maybe in decades) the food will be the currency. People will be killing for it. It is a dark scenario but very possible. Just look at animals, when they have shortage of food, they will fight over it and even kill members of their own pack. So the same will happen to us, because after all, we are animals with ability to think on higher levels. That is all that separates us from animals. And food shortage will awake that animal in many people.
